Hata Shunsai 3rd was born in 1976 as the 3rd Successor of Hata Shunsai whose family is the descendant from Kamaya Hikobei, tea ceremony kettle master, who was one of the seven metalworkers invited to work for the chieftain Toshinaga Maeda of Kaga province in the seventeenth century and since then the family has been located in the metal worker's town, called Kanayamachi in Takaoka, Toyama prefecture.
